83 Affirmations for Self-Discipline

Affirmations for self-discipline

You are probably here because you find it hard to stay committed to your goals and targets, yeah? Every year you make a resolution to achieve some goals and grow forward in your life, but just a couple of weeks later, all that plan, motivation, and ambition goes out the window.

Yep, I know exactly how that feels. I think I have struggled with self-discipline the most among the people I know, or at least suffered the most consequences because of lack of self-discipline.

Here’s what we will cover in this guide (Table of Contents):

My Struggles with Self-Discipline

My personal struggles with Self-discipline

I know you’re here for affirmations to cultivate self-discipline but I think some of the insights from my struggles might help you gain a new perspective on this. Feel free to skip to the affirmations if you like.

The nature of my work and the circumstances of my life allowed me to fall into the pits of endless procrastination literally for months and years in many areas of life.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to blame circumstances, but there are certain things that keep you in check and force you to be disciplined no matter what, even though they might come at the cost of freedom and lack of creativity at times.

On the other hand, too much freedom and comfort (and the lack of immediate consequences) can lead to a lifestyle and habits that are all over the place. I once heard someone say:

“If you don’t create order for your life, you’ll decline into chaos.”

And that is exactly what happened with me until I decided that I’d had it enough and that things needed to change DRASTICALLY if I am to ever make something positive out of my life.

One of the things that REALLY set me off on the path of sheer discipline was a couple of health scares and the realization as I turned 30 that I probably would not have my youthful energy forever.

Even though I exercise and take good care of myself, the subtle signs of aging that begin to creep in as you enter your 30s were the biggest alarm that I’ll probably have a decade or so more to accomplish most of the heavy lifting tasks and milestones that I ever envisioned.

And if I don’t want to go to my grave with regrets, I’ll have to get my life together NOW!

The affirmations below are divided into sub-categories and designed to target the areas that lead to self-discipline or lack thereof, instead of giving you a bunch of non-relevant affirmations.

I try my best to keep my affirmations very specific and very targeted to cover every angle of the problem you’re here for.

Toward the end, I’ll link a few more of my affirmations articles that might also be relevant to your specific needs. Do check them out as well.
